the priority strategies of the government. There are serious
environmental concerns that go hand in hand with every mining activity
in our natural forests. Beyond the claims to contribute to the economy
from mining companies, there are many aspects of the mining industry
that can be shared to expose the true state of the mining sector.
Haribon members and friends are invited to an informal sharing of
experiences and discussion on the Haribon stance on the mining issue.
This activity aims to broaden the Haribon members' understanding of the
policy advocacy of the organization on mining and its community-based
environmental conservation work.
Our Policy Advocacy Specialist Rowena Bolinas and Mithi Gonzales, OIC
for Site Conservation Action Group will share their experiences with
communities, local government units, policy makers and other
non-government organizations on the challenges that a revitalized
mining sector pose on the environment and social sectors.
A documentary video will be presented before the sharing of
experiences.
